Generally, in Paper 3 under Structure Question, students are asked to give the operational definition of certain terms in a particular experiment but in their answer, most of them tend to give conceptual definition. Paper 2 generally involves conceptual definition.
   Operational definition deals with measurable / observable things. An operational definition is one that is based on the observable properties, behaviours or uses of an entity.
   Conceptual definition deals with interpretation .A conceptual or theoretical definition explains why something exhibits certain properties.
For example : Acids
Conceptual definition - Substance that dissociates / ionises in water to form hydrogen / hydroxonium ions
Operational definition - Substance that can turn blue litmus paper red
