The recycler places the empty bottle/can into the receiving aperture; the horizontal in-feed system allows the user to insert containers quickly and easily.

The bottle/can is then automatically rotated; the bottle/can is then scanned by a OnmiDirectional UPC Scanner, which scans the beverage container’s UPC code.

Once a container is scanned, identified (matched to database) and determined to be a participating container, it is processed and typically crushed to reduce its size, to avoid spillages of liquid and to increase storage capacity. The machines can use material recognition instead/as well as bar code scanner when needed.

The Green Dot (German: Der Grüne Punkt) is the license symbol of a European network of industry-funded systems for recycling the packaging materials of consumer goods. The Green Dot scheme is captured under the European "Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive - 94/62/EC" which is binding for all companies if their products use packaging and requires manufacturers to recover their own packaging. According to the directive, if a company does not join the Green Dot scheme they must collect recyclable packaging themselves.Since European introduction, the scheme has been rolled out to 23 European countries. In some, namely France, Turkey, Spain, Portugal and Bulgaria, companies joining the Green Dot scheme must use the logo.

The Green Dot is used by more than 130,000 companies encompassing 460 billion packages.

SIMBOL KITAR SEMULA

The recycling symbol you see today with three arrows in the triangle shape was designed in 1970 as part of a contest sponsored by the Container Corporation of America (CCA) (now Jefferson Smurfit Corporation). As a special event for the original Earth Day in 1970 (started by John Mc Connell), CCA conducted a contest for graphic art students to design a symbol representing paper recycling. The winning entry was submitted by Gary Dean Anderson, a 5-year architecture student at the University of Southern California at Los Angels. Later that year, William Lloyd, modified the contest winning recycling symbol to create the present-day image.

Tetapi sebelum buang, mesti bersihkan dulu.  Kalau dipasang di sekolah, pasti murid suka.
