found this useful.  This is quite deep like the big 'L' but good if the theme evil comes out in the exam.  However, for the other 2 novels - Jungle of Hope and the return, evil is not a common theme.  Probably need to see into themes like courage. 

Try analyzing common themes.

Enthusiasm is what we are looking and hoping for in here. Without it, nobody will be willing to share their knowledge or learn from others. She does seem enthusiatic doesn't she? Perhaps being the Ketua Bidang for Bahasa in my school is one of the reasons. Hahaha! We teach The Pearl in our school so we won't bother about Jungle of Hope and The Return. Heheh! Just hope that teachers from other schools that teach Jungle of Hope and The Return would be kind enough to share their materials on the common themes.

Adeline, you can also add to the collection of notes on The Pearl. The more the merrier! Hahaha! Cheers!

There's nothing wrong with that sharing right. Neither there's no problem with the term "New Teacher".

I'm also looking for any visual materials for the Pearl.  If there is any, please do share.  A novel is not only just a reading material.  It is a presentation of a culture, mindset, view point of a community in a setting presented.  our students can only relate to what they know and to present it to them a whole different experience in life can be made so much easier through visual materials.  Though some may argue that much of the essence might be lost, then again, many of our students are yet of the desired level.
