Memang ada baiknya kita mengikuti program tersebut. Kita dapat memantapkan lagi penguasaan BI kita. Sama-samalah kita berusaha ke arah memajukan diri di dalam menguasai bahasa tersebut.

Soalan 1 - All teachers teaching English, Mathematics and Science subjects are automatically in the PPSMI program. One of the activities under PPSMI is the Buddy Support System (BSS) where the teachers are divided into 2 groups, i.e the Critical Friends (CF) and the Buddies. The CFs are the English Language teachers and the Maths and Science teachers who are deemed very proficient in the English Language, and are able to provide assistance and support to the Buddies (Maths and Science teachers who are deemed lacking in English Language proficiency). If you are not a CF, then you must be a buddy, and vice versa.

Soalan 2 - Refer to the answer for question 1. If you are not an English-option teacher, then your academic achievement in the English Language may qualify you to become CF. By virtue of you having taught English, I would assume that you have fulfilled either one of the critieria to become CF.

sorry for the late response. cant remember where did i posted the questions regarding BSS. ehe. ok, i got it. thx for the thorough explanation cikgu. really appreciate it. actually i dun mind being a CF. juz asking.

nway, there's one thing about BSS dat i noticed. scenario ni timbul mgkin kerana kurang cikgu sc/m3 yg jadi cf. the thing is... dunno about m3 teachers, but for sc, selalunya cikgu sc hadapi masalah dengan pronunciation. kdg2 some sc terms, guru BI pun x berapa pasti. tambah lagi cara mengajar BI and Sc are somewhat different. dlm sc grammar and etc x berapa ditekankan sgt. saya n my buddy selalunya discuss about teknik2 mengajar. nway, juz my pov.

Hai kawan-kawan,
Berkaitan dengan "Buddy Support Sistem" saya rasa agak memberi babanan tugas yang berat kepada Panatia Bahasa Inggeris dari segi masa dan penyediaan. Kita telah dibebankan dengan  tugas P+P dalam kelas. Kita bukan setakat mengajar tetapi juja membuat "CLERICAL WORK" yang perlu di siap dan dikemaskinikan pada masa yang ditetapkan. Begitu juga mengadakan kelas berfokus kepada pelajar-pelajar Tahun Enam. Kita ini manusia biasa. Bebanan kerja kadang-kadang membuat kita stress. Pulang ke rumah pula menghadapi karenah anak-anak.
Minta maaf semua, saya bukan hendak mengada-ngada tetapi hendak menyatakan keadaan yang sebenar. Kita terpaksa menjalankan sistem ini kerana salah satu daripada program PPSMI.
Cubalah kita renung bersama dan berilah pandangan dan pendapat masing-masing "ON HOW TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS".

BSS is not about whether you can speak correctly or pronounce accurately, you must remember, most of us are not a native speaker. BSS is about support, sharing of knowledge. Don't be misjudged by what have been buzzing around, there is always a solution. I am not telling you what to do, but never cease to try something. Not everyone can speak as fluent as you are but, maybe they knew something else that you do not know all this while. If your buddies couldn't pronounce accurately, you are the one to guide them.

Salam sejahtera rakan guru semua,
Saya bersetuju dengan semua pandangan sama ada bentuk positif dan negatif sebab antara keduanya itu ada baik buruknya. Baik dan buruknya pula adalah adat dan resam kehidupan, adat dan resam itu pula bergantung kepada pengalaman kita semasa menempuh sesuatu rona-rona yang membentuk kesimpulan yang menjadi kita bejat terhadap perkara berkenaan jika gagal serta ceria jika menempuh kejayaan.

Berkemungkinan perkara berkenaan menjadi benda yang negatif yang kita fikirkan kerana kita belum menemui cara yang bersesuaian serta menyeronokkan kita seperti kata Cikgu Lau. Adakalanya benda yang kita rasakan pahit ini boleh memberikan kita kegembiraan, kekadang benda yang manis itu boleh memberikan keperitan. Contohnya gula itu manis jika digunakan banyak sangat akan menyebabkan kita sakit kencing manis. Ubat yang pahit akan menyembuh kita dari penyakit. Jangan pula pandangan saya ini akan dilihat dari sudut negatif, sekiranya boleh ambilnya sebagai motivasi agar boleh menimbulkan kejayaan.

I hate to admit that the phrase 'sabar ajalah cikgu' to be used so freely. The phrase denotes negative attitude and not a pragmatic attitude. If you feel that the buddy system is an added workload to you, find ways to make it more fun and more interesting. From my past experience, the buddy support system is a failure for the simple reason of not being carried out systematically, which is sad actually.


Saya sangat setuju dengan fahaman cikgu Joseph Renang.Bak kata pepatah ' kalau mahu buat memang ada seribu daya dan kalau dah tak mahu buat memang timbul seribu dalih'
