good day..

can we use the word ' to study.....' or 'to investigate...' to write the aim for any experiment in chemistry. Is that too general?

In my opinion. there is no specific way of writing the aim of an experiment. It depends on the type of experiment we are conducting. Some examples of writing of aim of experiment :
To investigate .... (factor of concentration...)
To compare ..... ( properties of alkane & alkene)
To determine.....( melting point of..)
To construct ... (..Electrochemical series)
To prepare ...   (of salts)

This apply to all experiment, including Primary schools.
Though i am not a Science teacher but had to prepare for any questions that Pupils will ask...
