I notice some threads in engkabang are stagnant with no updates nor activities. Some teachers who are assigned as moderators to start the subjects have merely started the subjects! Their topics are growing moulds and fungi. Some have stopped visiting their fields all together! We need to keep the threads alive and be filled with the latest information to guide teachers.

Yes, moderators are teachers and they are struggling to even take a breather! Their school work is forcing them to stay back in school. Once at home, they have exercise books to mark and grade.  Don't forget the lesson planning! Reasons for inability to update respective threads are genuine. I know.

Hey, I have a suggestion. You can do this while walking out of your last lesson to the staffroom. Just think of an issue that has just been faced by your students or yourself! For example, "Why can't my students understand the themes for The Road Not Taken?" or "Pythagoras Theorem, why can't students calculate the hypotenuse?" or "Students just do not know what Inertia is" and many more. I believe you are more creative than I am right now!

As moderators responsible for your own threads, one of the things you can do is prompt readers to think, discuss, share and write by simply posting a thought-provoking idea to get the ball rolling, once a month or once a fortnight. Just an interesting phrase, a real issue, a genuine mind-boggling problem can generate relevant discussions. It triggers readers to think and every engkabang reader can participate actively by penning their opinions. That way, you are not spoon-feeding members but participating in the creation of a generation of thinking-teachers!

Moderators would not be pressured to fill the threads with thesis-like essay to keep them active. You do not even have to drain your brain to make slides for powerpoint presentation, but just a thought-provoking statement of about 20 words or even less can build a snowball big enough to blow readers away!

Lest, engkabang.net will only be a transit point for visitors and never a portal where people keep coming back for more!

I did posted some topics about English Language lesson for primary school for year 6...hmm but i've got no respond yet....(may some haven't noticed it yet) anyway...i think so far so good... All we need is more teachers to participate here, then we can see more bright ideas and other valuable information that we need instead of some posted topics like what have you meant, but, we can't say it was wrong right! and, of course the user have to follow the rules stated in this net working in order to keep it useful to anyone...we can have some fun too while digging some useful informations that we need in our field.. ..teachers for teachers yea.... Wink

oh yea..there's another one....

I can see some of the students who are active in this net too, asking for help and guides , so this had shown it positive effect too...may be the progress was a little bit not as hot as other net working but we can see its was growing right... Cheesy

all i can say was bravo..to the Engkabang.net... Grin

now we have got 1734..members...at 2.00pm 17/04/08..
how many teachers and lecturers haven't take part...
just imagine what if all of them registered and start using this net... Huh

So banyak perkara yang perlu kita buat. Namun stay positive, anak-anak engkabang semakin ramai / banyak. We are a big family. Jangan pula hal kecil kita susah hati. Banyak yang telah kita achieve bersama sehingga dapat mengumpul seramai 2290 anak / ahli (setakat jam 11.26 malam 21.05.2008). Apa lagi yang kita hendak. Be positve dan berterima kasih. Saya salute semua guru.
