Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a time for fasting, prayer and penance. It reminds us that "we are dust, and to dust we will return." Peace be with you.

It is different from the Muslim fasting. During the season of Lent (from March to April), Catholic Christians reduce the amount of food eaten from normal, meaning one main meal a day, and two smaller meals which do not exceed the main meal in quantity if added together. The season will end with the celebration of Easter.

It's really up to the individual. The three meals can still be taken but the idea is to reduce the amount of food taken.

Dinner    - half plate of rice and small amount of chicken!
