Hello Everybody,
I am heading the English Language Unit in Sektor Pengurusan Akademik,  Jabatan Pelajaran Sarawak.  Mr. Sariee Minan (Secondary School) and Miss Annie Chin (Primary School) are my assistants/  colleagues in the unit.  We look forward to keeping in touch with all English Language teachers and anyone interested in English language especially in Sarawak.

I'm glad that someone like you are making every effort to come forward and , being in the right position, share with us here whatever you have there. With that, I hope that some friends might care to check their English first before sending it for others to read. This, I belief, is good for the sake of every one of us, especially for those who are teaching English in schools. At least our image as an English taecher is protected. I am not good at English either, but I always try to be one.

I hope that you are not disappointed with me for this extremely late reply. Thank you for your kind words.

I am encouraged with your positive outlook on our role an English language teachers. I always say that we need to read as much and as regularly as possible to improve our English language. I may be an ELT personnel at hq level, but I do have to check on my own proficiency from time to time. I read English books or materials as much as I can.

Children, too, need access to English materials for reading - in whatever form. Teachers need to read to young learners (who can't read yet) as interestingly as possible to motivate and arouse children's interest.

I will keep readers informed.
