question: why does lead(2)bromide melt when heated?

answer a: the heat supplied is enough to overcome the ionic bonds between ions.
answer b: the heat supplied is enough to overcome the strong attraction force between ions.

why does some question books use answer a. The term "bond" is totally wrong.instead the correct answer is b. Have the books got mixed up?

The force of attraction between the two ions is known as ionic bond.
In my opinion, both answers are acceptable.
How about other teachers, do you agree with me?

The force between the +ve ions and -ve ions is strong electrostatic force which constitutes the ionic bond
