SPM 2003, Paper 2, Illogical Triangle?

Hi fellow teachers.

Just want to draw your attention to Question 15 of Paper 2, SPM 2003.
Sorry for bringing up an 'old' question.

In part B, we are asked to find the length of AV.

Assuming we label the midpoint of BC as N, information given is angle NAV = 25 degrees.

Angle ANV is 50 degrees
The length of VN = 1.737 m
The length of AN = 2.222 m

From this we can deduce that angle AVN is 105 degrees.

So the problem is, you can use the sine rule in two different ways to find the length of AV.

You would expect both answers to be the same, but they are not!

sin 25 / 1.737 = 0.2433
sin 105 / 2.222 = 0.4347

The problem becomes apparent when you try to geometrically construct the triangle. It is impossible to do so using the measurements given.

Am I missing something, or do you guys have the same problem?
