Dilute solution.

In chemistry concentrateed solution meant 2 M and above.

For electrolysis process involving chloride, bromide and iodide, not concentrated solution but higher concentration of the ion.

chloride, bromide and iodide ion will be selected for discharge even when concentration is 0.1 M.

Hope this help.

at first,i consider 1 mol dm-3 as dilute solution.but when i discuss other state pass year trial exam que with my students,1 mol dm-3 bromide solution, bromine selected to discharge to form bromide.thats mean the que consider 1 mol dm-3 as concentrated bromide solution.students wondering when they shld consider Cl-,Br-,I- to selected to be discharged instead of OH-.what shld i tell them?

if electrolysis, 0.00XXXX considered as dilute.
if salt, 0.XX considered as dilute.
correct?

From I understand is anything be it salt or acid if the molarity is beyond 0.001 then it's considered concentrated
