Hi
I would like to suggest to webmaster to put a column especially for our students who are shy to come for counseling, they can share it in this Counseling column, so that our school counselors can come and help them by giving guidance and counsel them.
Normally, in the school, i as the counselor find that very seldom the students come by themselves when they have problems, bully by their classmate or family problems.
this special column can be use by the students of all school.
Regarding this issue, Any suggestions are most welcome. Thanks you so much

Hi Fr. Philip,
That's a suggestion to be given a good thought.  In fact, not many students know of this website, cos' its mainly for teachers by teachers.  However, there are teachers who have introduced this website to their students and they do appear online. Not bad, Mr. Counselor!

When there is any problem coming up, I will always look for the kids' parents. I will talk nicely with the parents. I will try to make them see the problems of their children. I want them to help their own children. Most of the parents are very happy to cooperate with me.

In actual fact, we all have problems in our life. We cannot run away from problems in our daily life . A mature person is always ready and  brave enough to face our problems,  to open up our minds, hearts and spirits  to share and ask for help. We should not pretend that we are okay and well.
We as educators and counselors should be open minded with an open hearts to educate our students to face the reality of their problems. I understand the students that we  are counselling, they have to take times for them to open up themselves and build up the 'trust worthy relationship' with the counselors, before they we reveal or talk about their problems to ask. May I ask our School Counselors, how many students come to the Bilik Kaunseling voluntarily when they face their problem? Normally, they are asked to come for counseling or being refered by the Guru Disiplin. At the end, the students concerned are not willing to come, as a result they do not share freely regarding the problems to the counselors but by obligations only. As a result of this situation, there is no growth in maturity of the personhood.
I understand it is very difficult for the students to share their own problems and share openly and publicly especially in the website; but if they just keep to themselves and nobody to turn to when they are stress and emotionally disturb, what will occur then? They will only turn to their peer groups to seek for answer. Sometimes they get their answer, but sometimes they get wrong answer. Each and every Student is unique and different. We have to build up their personality, self confidence, self esteen and know and be 'who you are' so as to build up a healthy person in mind, body and spirit!

Oh yes!  I agree with you Fr. Philip.  Most students who appear at the Bilik Kaunseling are SENT there by the disciplinary teachers.  most of whom are disciplinary-problem students who turn out to be from a rather broken background, or parents are working far from home and they are being taken care of by their grandparents, etc.  These children, have problems, and have no one to turn to.  Thus creating mischievousness in school, partly to get the attention of their friends or teachers.  Really, not many or frankly speaking less than 5 who come forward to the Counselors for advice or help.  But still, to air their problems, they might not do.  But the suggestion is there for the counsellors to think about, think of  some guide or advice to your students to air their problems, maybe in the PM message to any counselor online, and even a student may stick to one particular counselor who offer to attend, counsel and advice the child.  So, you counselors out there, lend a helping hand.  Someone out there needs a counselor!
