Ha, idea ini bagus tapi kes-kes yang tenat semangkin tenat hingga ada yang "coma", saya pun tak nampak program ini dapat membantu keadaan, bila nak diadakan, semua guru dibebankan dengan bermacam-macam tugas lain, kelas bimbingan, SBT, KK, keceriaan sekolah, dll, bila masa lagi nak BSS....,

As for our school we give a few exercises relate with grammar and comprehension, twice a week.
10 to 15 questions will do.. Cheesy get the marks, make a record of it, by the end of the month give them something as a present for those who collect the highest marks  Wink

Theorically, the system is good but to apply to fellow teachers, it seems to be the opposite.  In our school, the english department had arrange programmes for maths and science to enhance their English language.  Among the programmes purposed are:
(a)  public speaking during assembly in front of students
(b)  micro-teaching
(c)  self assessment module
(d)  extra class for teachers involved.

What do you people think of the idea?

but the d sections got a little problems  Grin relate with the time management everyone will rush to the unknown location right after the school bell rang hahahaha its normal actually Cheesy

I think the best way is to practice speaking in English among ourselves to overcome the feeling of shyness and not confident.Other than that, find someone who we are comfortable with and practise reading comprehension, answering grammatical questions at our own time (10-15 minutes at least once a week) as we are all very, very busy!

Utk sekolah saya, PK1 dah siap2 letak dlm jadual satu waktu utk bincang dlm group. Buat soalan SAL or modul. Sebulan sekali kami berjumpa utk topik2 tertentu  such as communication, micoteaching, grammar etc(2 hour). So total 4 hour/month.
Semua ni hasil usaha guru2 BI sekolah kami. Thanks a lot.

Di sekolah saya, buddy support system dibuat sekadar melepaskan batuk di tangga sahaja. Kekadang buat dan kekadang pula tidak. Macam chipmore, sekejap ada.. sekejap tiada. Kebanyakkan cikgu yang mengikuti program ini berasa kurang berminat kerana aktiviti yang dijalankan agak kurang menarik dan hanya berkisar pada kaedah yang sama sahaja.

Teruskan usaha yang baik itu.  Kerjasama guru-guru Bahasa Inggeris dan guru-guru Matematik & Sains sangat diperlukan untuk menjayakan Sistem Bimbingan Taulan di sekolah.  Kami percaya Program Sistem Bimbingan Taulan di sekolah banyak membantu dalam mempertingkatkan profisiensi Bahasa Inggeris guru-guru matematik dan sains jika dilaksanakan dengan sempurna berdasarkan garis panduan yang ditetapkan oleh KPM.  Kita seharusnya melaksanakan sesuatu program dengan hati yang ikhlas dan sukarela agar tidak timbul dibuat secara "paksarela".

BSS... helps when there is cooperation and support from all the Mathematics, Science & English teachers. We have group discussions using the SAL module provided. In addition, all of the PPSMI teachers will take turns to speak on a topic in English each morning through the PA System... It helps to build up teacher's confidence. We called this programme "English Today"

Most importantly, we encourage all the teachers to converse in English daily with their CFs even though they may start out with broken English... Our Principal and PKs try to engage all teachers to speak English during discussions, meetings, etc. I believe the teachers need improve their confidence. Not that they dont know... they dont dare to say too much as they are afraid of being laughed at....

It takes two to tango... both English and Science & Maths teachers need to work together... inevitably some who are positive and determined toward changes will be able to improve....

Thanks for your compliment... we are still trying hard to get everyone to work together. The emphasis is team effort... we all need to work together, to sacrifice some of our time ... And I know that's not easy. Slowly but surely we are moving forward... I dare to say some of the teachers are quite comfortable in speaking English to us now not like before. Grin Cheesy

I attended a meeting on Pemantapan sistem bimbingan taulan last month.  We brought our BSS files and was told how to manage it better.  Attached are the guidelines.

The system are really work for our school . We (SC and MT teacher)even have our English class with the english teacher , 4 hour a month. It only last until July and after the PTP exam we've stop to attend the class. But we can still discuss our problem with the english teacher , and they're always willing to help.
